To Rule Over You
New World Order Series, Part 1
Jim Allen
A pastor announced he had prayerfully considered and then decided to adopt the Under Cover teaching by John Bevere. The central theme for Bevere's teaching is that God guarantees protection for believers who submit to pastoral authority. Masked within Bevere's teaching is a warning that says God will remove His protection from believers who will not submit to the pastor. Even worse, Bevere refers to ordinary believers as sheep, not too bright, often confused, and in need of a pastor to guide them. Aside from Bevere's affront to believers and the foul stench of legalism oozing from this false idea, Bevere's teaching is a necessary building block for Dominionism.
"The doctrine of Dominionism directs man to take dominion over the earth and change it for the better before Jesus can return. The doctrine also emphasizes the need to shift from 'looking up' to 'looking around' to see what can be done to safeguard the environment, change men to be more godly, and live socially responsible." [1] The Under Cover teaching is one tool among an arsenal of tools Dominionists are using to gain control over believers. Dominionists undermine the true gospel by redirecting believers away from faith in Christ and toward dependence on and obedience to the pastor. Consequently, it downgrades the believer's standing before God from "grace through faith" to "law through obedience."
The holy grail for Dominionism resides in Genesis 1:28 that says, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth." Dominionists use the above verse as their biblical mandate to gain control over laity and then as a political platform to gain control over civil government. Jesus spoke harshly against the practice of controlling laity when He said to the church in Ephesus, "...But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate (Revelation 2:3)." According to Wikipedia, Nico means "conquer" in Greek, and laitan refers to "laity". These Nicolaitans (conquerors of the lay people) live unaware that they are disposable pawns in the global chess game known as the coming new world order.
"Adolf Hitler attempted to fashion a new world order known as the Third Reich, and we know how that ended. During Hitler's early political career, he was a type of Dominionist. He professed faith in Jesus Christ, proclaimed himself a Christian, and claimed his vision for Germany rested on a biblical mandate. In a speech by Hitler in 1921 he boasted, "My feeling as a Christian points me to my Lord and Saviour... I am fighting for the work of the Lord." Not only did Hitler receive applauses from the Christian community for his open profession of faith but went on to propagate malicious propaganda that would destroy millions of people, most notably the Jews of Europe. [2]
"Hitler was steeped in occultism, yet most German Christians did not question his allegiance to God, or if he was indeed Christian at all. Why would they question; he used the right words and phrases, quoted scripture, and even flashed a Bible when it suited his purposes. The most evil of men will always cloak their deeds in righteous and palatable terms and their causes will always appear to be noble. True evil is always duplicitous, an oppressive darkness wrapped in light in order to deceive. In Hitler's case, being Christian was nothing more than a brilliant political maneuverer. He knew the church would be indispensable to him, and indeed it was. If one spends much time reading the literature of the leading Dominionists, the potential for a repeat of the kind of brutal fascism becomes all too real a possibility. Are we not instructed to love our enemies and do good to those who despitefully use us? Yet Dominionists would have us return to Mosaic Law, imposing the harshest of punishments!" [3]
God never intended for man to rule over man apart from His rule over them; yet an essential requirement for the coming new world order is a system that will unite people under one banner of faith in worship of a false idol (Revelation 13:15). The Under Cover and Dominionism doctrines are two pieces belonging to the same End Times puzzle. Although they fit snugly together, their very shapes suggest there are more pieces to the puzzle, soon to be added. The idea of a new world order is no longer a conspiracy theory. It is real. While there are many puzzle pieces making up the new world order, this series focuses on those pieces that adversely impact our faith.
